Why don’t South Africans use loyalty programmes?

For the past few years, we have seen the percentage of South African consumers who do not use loyalty programmes change from 33% in 2015 to 28% in 2019. We need to understand the reasons why those consumers do not use loyalty. It is a relatively small proportion versus those who do use loyalty programmes, but even so, we would like to deep dive into this issue. So we asked the question this year: “why don’t you?” to the 28% of respondents who stated, “I don’t use loyalty programmes.”
